Hello! I’m Jennifer, the creator of Detour Lacquer, and I’m so excited to share this unexpected adventure with you. I never painted my nails before age 40—ever. Then about a year ago, I fell straight into the indie polish rabbit hole, and my life hasn’t been the same since. What started with one bottle became a hobby… then an obsession!

The name Detour Lacquer came to me while driving home with my youngest son. We passed a detour sign near our house, and after saying it out loud a few times, I knew it was the one. Later I found a quote that said:
“DETOUR — You’re not lost, you’re just on a different path.”
That line really stuck with me—especially now.

Recently, I received news that I’m being laid off, and in the middle of all that uncertainty, creating something of my own has brought me so much joy and focus during a time of change.
